Reading through the posts, it appears as though others have had a similar problem to me but I cant see anywhere that a solution has been provided.
xTeVe appears to be set up OK, I have built some filters and the web interface is showing 64 XPEG channels available. Setting up the tuner in Plex appears to initially work and the xTeVe EPG loads up OK. However, when I go to watch a program, I get a Playback error stating it could not tune a channel. When I check the LiveTV & DVR settings in the Plex settings, it says device not found.
I have uPnP running on my network and both the Plex server and xTeve are running on the same QNAP NAS.
Any hints or tips on what I need to do to get this running? Iām not particularly technical so havent looked at logs or file-level config settings as I wouldnt know what to look for!
Iām having an issue with reliable recordings. If I have say 5 recordings scheduled for a day, 50% of the time they will all record in full no issues. The other half of the time Iāll get maybe 1 or 2 complete recordings then the 3rd will fail 10-20 mins into the recording, but the stream hasnāt dropped or anything, then also the episodes after will randomly record in segments. Just generally having reliability issues, I thought it was just plex but if I restart my Xteve service I get another few days without any issues. Iāve tried everything I can think of to improve reliability does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Trying to catch my logs next time it fails but its hard to catch them at the right time.
Thanks in advance for any tips, when it works reliably itās great and have no other issues I couldnāt figure out on my own or reading through otherās posts.
I already watch direct OTA tv on plex, using HDhomerun and OS X Mojave.
I would like to use also a m3u playlist.
I start xteve in terminal using ./xteve command and I always get this error message: [ERROR] listen udp4 xxx.x.x.x:xxxx: bind: address already in use () - EC: 0
The xxxx port, is hdhomerun port.
So it seems that hdhomerun prevent xteve to start.
What can I do?
(Sorry for my english, it is not my language)
Hiā¦
Am i missing something here? I canāt add xteve DVR in plex anymore. I enter the url and port etc, it finds itā¦no probs.
But, I canāt steer it away from selecting Cable, and countryā¦I used to be able to at some point add the xml url details etcā¦I canāt do that now.
I have an option to scan channels, but it will just moan at me and sayāNo channels found. Make sure your device has a signal from your antenna and try scanning again.ā
If I add āCableā and āCountryāā¦I canāt continue.
Oh wow, I thought I was going crazy! I have the exact same problem. Sometimes I do have the tuner with channels and can click next and get stuck there. But mostly stuck at the exact same dialog as you.
No matter how many restarts, log clearing, temp dir cleaning.
hello everybody ā¦good night !!
i canāt install and start up xteve in a linux PMS
⦠i want to re-do againā¦but for any reason the IP:34400 is returning the wizard again and againā¦
iāve erased in user and root the following dir
home/user/xteve
home/user/.xteve
tmp/xteve
tmp/.xteve
/root/xteve
/root/.xteve
root/tmp/xteve
in other words ALL xteve dirs in user and root userā¦
BUT for strange reasons the IP:34400 are returning the wizard
how can i start really from the beginning ?

I am interested in knowing a few things.
I downloaded and install Xteve on my Windows plex server.
My IPTV provider gives me 5 devices.
So I would like to know first is there any reason why I should install Xteve on its own server?
Should I use the default settings for streaming which is No Buffer, or use one of the other three; is there a best option?
What does ffmpeg give me over vlc?
Should the Buffer Size stay at 1MB, is there a sweet spot for people who have 5 tuners?
My config is:
I am using Xteve version 2.1.2.
Running on Windows 2016 Server.
IBM x3550 M3.
64GB of RAM, dual 5675 CPUs.
C: is running SSDās.
Iām using Plex on my DS415+ and I also have set up xTeVe as an Docker-Container on that NAS. Everytime when I try to set up a Tuner in Plex he find immediately my router (Fritz.Box) which also provides an DVB-C tuner. I have to input the IP and Port of my xTeVe to find it. But it switches back to the tuner of the router after 2 seconds so that Iām not able to set up xTeVe in Plex correctly. Can you help me?
Check the mapping section of xteve. That xml is formatted as such that I bet none of the channels are mapped. Youāll have to do them all manually and then readd the Plex DVR. You xteve log should indicate this as well
