xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

Does anyone know what tag Plex is looking for in the xmltv file to identify new episodes of shows? The xmltv file I have pulls guide data, shows episode playing dates and has a tag for new episodes but in Plex all tv episodes show up as new which ruins setting new episodes to record

when I try to paste exaple of the xmltv this forum is just taking out all the xml language and posting it as a listing not sure how to show the darn file for an example.

Hi

i have a problem with xTeVe. My m3u lists are all mixed up. xTeVe is not translating URLs correctly.
xTeVe copies my list and renames them something like “MGHJ2IDZJSUHMI04S523.m3u”.

But data in xteve.m3u and urls.json are all mixed up. Wrong URLs are on the wrong channels.

I use two lists, one is classic IPTV, and the other one is stream list from my dreambox.

xTeVe version is 2.2.0

This is fixed in beta version. I used that one and everything works fine.

I have another question. Is there a way to set up default audio and subtitle track in playlists so that plex starts channel it starts with those defined defaults. For example i stream SciFi channel from my enigma2 receiver. And default audio is Polish and no subtitles. But I would like to set default to english with croatian subtitles. How can I achieve this?

Hi piratko, do you still have the problem? any solution?

Is it possible to change the time of programs for Plex?
Unfortunately, Plex started showing the EPG badly, I have an offset of two hours. in XML it is correct:

  <programme start="20210922080000 +0000" stop="20210922113500 +0000" channel="TVN HD">
    <title lang="pl">Dzień Dobry TVN</title>

8 to 11:30 AM.

unfortunately in Plex I have a shift of +2 hours:

10:30 do 13:30

For m3u8 files you need to enable the xteve buffer.

See: GitHub - xteve-project/xTeVe: M3U Proxy for Plex DVR and Emby Live TV

please help !!!

I accidentally touched something, and I can no longer access the xteve via the web. I do not get the ip as you can see in the photo. I get a local ip of mine that has nothing to do with it.

I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, but nothing remains with the old files.

How could I reset it ???

Thank you

I cannot seem to get this to run as a Windows service. If I click the .exe everything runs perfectly but if I create the service in NSSM pointing to the exact same .exe the service will run but it prompts to me set everything up from the beginning. It’s like it’s not seeing that everything has already been configured. The .exe is in the same folder as the rest of the files. I have NSSM startup directory set as the same folder the .exe is in. Is there an argument I’m missing?

Why Plex Server is not opening RTSP stream as passed-over from xTeVe (Setting: No Buffer)?
From tcp dump i can see that HTTP request is sent instead which is not working of course.
When using native Live TV & DVR setup from Plex i can see that RTSP is used and working properly.
But why Plex does not use/support RTSP link from xTeVe? Any solution for this?

You have to use a buffer in xTeVe (eg: VLC, ffmpeg) to watch RTSP streams on Plex. There is no other way around it. Plex only supports HLS streams.

When streaming without xTeVe the native Plex Live & TV implementation is using RTSP for streaming. This can be seen from tcp dump. I am wondering why RTSP cannot be used with xTeVe but is natively used from Plex Live & TV. Any reason why Plex does not allow to use RTSP when using external program?

I have some issues with wrong audio channel when using ffmpeg and therefore native RTSP would be the best option. The RTSP stream in Plex is working pretty well but unfortunately the Plex channel search has some issues and only few channels can be found. xTeVe would be good workaround to implement channels via m3u and also nicely sort the channels but unfortunately the streaming method and audio channel problem is limiting here.

Would be great to get RTSP (without buffer) working with xTeVe but it seems Plex does not allow this method even RTSP stream is implemented in Plex.

You can switch audio streams while actively watching a channel by pressing down and going to the 3 dots on the right.

When using xTeVe with FFmpeg it is not possible because it only shows one available audio stream which is unfortunately sometimes the wrong one.

When using native Plex DVR i am able to change the audio format, but unfortunately the channel search from Plex DVR only find very few channels.

  1. is this still maintained (no commits on github since March)
  2. how do I fix constant buffering issues? (m3u8 playlist, pms epg, 8mb buffer, vlc)

streams play flawlessly in smplayer (mpv backend).

Hi

I need help. Sorry for my bad english

I have intstall xteve and plex on my Qnap NAS.

In Xteve in have install this m3u Line:
http://streamx.link:8080/get.php?username=XXXXXXX&password=XXXXXX&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

I have made all settings, and all is working in xteve.
If i try the link “http://192.168.1.5:34400/m3u/xteve.m3u” in top of Xteve with VLC on ym Windows Computer, is the streams are working.

Also in Plex, i can install the Live TV DVR, the Tuner working, i see the Chanels as OK.
Also the EPG and the Previews from the Chanels are working.

But if i try to start the Stream i receive error: " Wiedergabefehler / Quelle nicht verfügbar"

I dont know whats wrong!

In Settings i have Xteve as Buffer and 6MB Buffer Size. All others is as Standard.

I hope someone has any solution or tipps for me.

Thanks a lote.

Greetings
Chris

I have a problem. Unfortunately, the time in Poland has changed from summer to winter. After this change, Plex is showing me the timing of the EPG programs incorrectly.

EPG I create myself with xTeve, here is its code:

      <programme channel="1000" start="20211124042000 +0100" stop="20211124050500 +0100">
          <title lang="pl">Przysięga</title>
          <title lang="en">Yemin</title>

Can I change it somehow?

LOVE this app Marmei!

Just changed IPTV providers which allows for 2 streams.

As soon as I changed the number of streams in xTeVe from 1 to 2, when delete and try to re-add the tuner in Plex, Plex can’t find any compatible tuners.

When I change number of streams back to 1 in xTeVe, Plex finds the tuner right away.

Any ideas on this behaviour?

Wammy

I’ve been trying to get xTeVe to work on a Plex remote server but I’ve been unable to.
Everything looks to be working fine on xTeVe. There are no errors on the log and when I use it in a different app other than Plex it works fine. But while using Plex I get this error on the console:

[Transcoder] http://xteve:port/stream/1255f40266d419c103730a9c7aab25ec: Server returned 403 Forbidden (access denied)

Any ideas about troubleshooting I should do?

I doubt this is xTeVe issues and is likely PMS but I’m having an issue with PMS starting with any version at or above 1.25.x. Live TV viewing fails when using either the macOS or Windows native clients. Works fine on iOS apps. Webapp still fails after about 3 minutes worth of viewing. Reverting to PMS 1.24.5.5173 has resolved these issues. Logs for xTeVe look fine, and show that PMS disconnects by request.

I was also struggling a lot with xTeVe only to realize that it was not xTeVe’s fault. Once I updated the ffmpeg version on the VM where xTeVe is running, I did not have a single issue anymore.

Sidenote: I do not understand why ubuntu is shipping a 3.x ffmpeg version, while the stable ffmpeg releases are 4.x.
