Zoom should be a function of the displaying device NOT the playing software like Plex. Most TVs have that ability and if you need to zoom us your TV’s zoom button.
Plex should not clutter up its code with functions that are best handled elsewhere.

I’m coming over from Kodi. I wanted some of the features Plex gives me that are absent in Kodi.
ZOOM: My TV does not support incremental zoom, but Kodi does. I have watched a fair share of movies at the theater. I am aware of the fact that many theater screens crop part of the movie on the sides, to better fill the screen. (as they are not wide enough) The movie makers know this and edit to allow for it to not disrupt the viewing.
AUDIO OFFSET: I am using Firesticks (4k version) for my extender (Using NAS to store content and MariaDB for content info). For some reason the new Firesticks are giving me as much as a 200ms audio delay. Not sure why this is happening, but… I can handle it with Kodi.
In a nutshell… I often use the zoom feature, and here and there the audio sync adjust. Once in a great while I have to adjust the aspect (pixel ratio). The end result is, I always get the best experience I can get from the content I have available.
I purchased Plex lifetime, but have not used it. The simplified player interface is the reason why. I wish that Plex player would add these features.
