Update : notify by email all users subscribed to my account plex when I add a new video / serie /music / photo on my server with the name and, maybe, the poster of the video.

Searched, but didn't find this thread, so I doubleposted. It would be fantastic, it should be really easy using ifttt.com for distribution of the email if anyone would like to use pushover or such.

Not to hijack the request, because I believe it’s valid. But if your shared users have Android devices, have them check out nuVue (http://nuvueapp.com). Notifying people of new content was the exact reason I wrote the app.

Not currently. It just does local notifications on your Android device. But I'm thinking that would make for a good feature request: forward notifications by email, text, etc.
This is a good application but the problem is that everyone in my family and all my friends have to buy the application at 1.50 € just to get news of my plex server and I have to convince them to buy and download application each time I add a new user. I think you should work to resolve this dilem.
May be an idea that would solve this dilem in part: : Propose a more expensive price for the admin but leave all other users linked to the account admin download the app for free
nuVue seems great, but since none of my friends or family has Android, I'm left out at sea!
Again, no need making it that complex imho. All I'm seeking out to do is to have a mail sent whenever a _new_ movie / tv-episode is added to the Plex Library. Underlining new since Plex re-adds content if it is moved on your hdd, treating it as new content.
There's hundreds of options writing this feature as a standalone app / script. But the point is that it quickly becomes far to complex for a regular user. And as I stated in another thread, PMS already has all that needs for doing this simple.
Just an FYI for those who dont know - With PlexWatch+Pushover you can get instant notifications about new files as they're added. I use it to get notified to my iPhone, iPad and Macbook's, and It works on Android as well.

Yes, PlexNotify does have the option to notify by email (or Pushbullet/Pushalot/Pushover/Growl)

Antitrust, thank you for the information. But too complicate ! I have a synology server and i think i can't install PlexNotify on synology. And I tried to install PlexWatch on Synology server but without success ! too boring

Many users (including members of my family and friends) who come to see movies on my server will not download the app on their phone to receive push notification.
Why?
'Cause most of the people are not geeks! They have still not enough motivation and passion for technology to find the app, download it and then parameterize on their phones.
Also, the only way to be sure that the person will receive the news is their email address (Because email is required to create an account Plex)
Also, Imagine the process! Whenever you want to add a noob user on your server, you'll have to tell him:
- You have to go on the site you create an account Plex
- You must agree the link that you received by email so you can see movies on my server.
- You have to go back on plex in "launch" tab to see my movies
- Or you can also download the application on your phone plex.
- Then you have to convince the person ----> To sell, download and parameterize an application on your phone to receive the news ...
Or go to the url blabla ... (plexwatch) to see the news etc.
Imagine your grand mother, maybe mother or dad or noob friends !
If 100% of your users are doing the process to the end so they all work at NASA
Why not just add a parameter in Plex ! it's so simple for users ! Then they can choose whether they want notification on their phone if they have download the plex application or receive an email if they do not have the app!

I so want this!!! I use couchpotato and automatic for auto download of series and movies, would love to be notified only when it's added to plex and ready to be played.
