RasPlex 0.7.0 released

Release time!

RasPlex 0.7.0 lands today!

We’ve added hifiberry support (for music only at the moment), brought back VPN, updated to PHT 1.4.1, and a whole bunch of other fixes.

Check out the full release notes:

Big thanks to Kwiboo for leading the charge on this release, and our beta team for working hard to ensure it’s polished and ready to roll!

Please check it out and let us know how you like it.

As always, please report any bugs you find against tiny.cc/rasplex-bugs

Brilliant  Can it be updated from Rasplex 6, or does it have to be a fresh install?

You can updated by selecting the ‘prerelease’ channel in preferences

Yes, check you have Pre-release channel selected and it will start the update, or, do a check for update now … In Preferences-> Software update.

Regards

Awesome! UI fluidity finally looks like the unofficial(?) kwiboo builds of PlexElec for Pi2.

One thing that kinda breaks the seamless user experience is that i needed to set update channel to pre release and when Pi restarted after update it was not able to boot up and i needed to unplug it and plug again.
Obviously you are doing this build for us for free, so don’t take it as rant or anything, just thing i noticed.

Did you let it boot twice, it takes some time to rewrite the new files and then load?

I waited about 3 minutes, so yes, maybe i was just impatient.

I flashed a new card with 0.6.0, booted the Pi, waited for the update to download, selected Update and Restart, booted twice, update successful, confirmed now 0.7.0.

I just updated my already configured RasPlex 0.6 installation to 0.7 through the pre-release update channel, and that went without problems.

Thanks for the update!

Hello, first time poster here in the plex forums. First I want to thank you guys for the work you do with Rasplex (I have it running on two raspberry pi 2’s and am considering a 3rd for my parents) and everything works as it should.

Today though I ran into an issue after updating both of my pi’s to 0.70. Since then I have been unable to log into my account either by using the pin which just has the wheel continuously spinning or manually. Both pi’s were updated via the pre-release channel within the app itself. Both Pi’s were logged in and working as of this morning when on the previous release (0.60). I’m not sure if this is a Rasplex issue or a plex issue in general (due to all the recent password resets) but just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a bug in Rasplex. If you need me to provide any other information just let me know.

Again thanks for all you guys do. Myself and my family appreciate it.

Edit: Never mind got it to work. Had to switch from DHCP to manual in the network settings and it started working again. Thanks again for all you guys do.

Hi there,

Is the resume playback fixed on 0.7.0? I can’t find it on the list.

Yes, it’s fixed.

It was included in one of the PHT releases, forget which one, have a look in the release thread for PHT.

Regards

Great, thank you.

thanks for this great update  all working so far…

Tried to update to .7.0 inside of Rasplex and it seemed to hang around cleanup. Got bored after like 30s because it’s 2015 and attention spans are short so… I downloaded the installer and refreshed my SD card to .7.0 and it’s running wonderfully. Thank you for the updates and a wonderful bit of software.

Edit: I can’t get it to have any sound on the analog port despite it’s specifically set to use Analog for sound. Worked in .6.0

Edit2: Found the issue, before there was just 1 Audio Output setting, now there’s two (?), the second being under the speaker output settings of 2.0, 2.1, etc. Scroll down and you’ll see another setting called Audio Output which allowed me to set it to Analog (was spelled weird) and that worked perfectly.

Working great! A++

About the ‘weird’ spelling mentioned by @zenithangunn above, “analogue” is simply the correct spelling of the word in British English, which differs from US English in many similar instances, where the US spelling has eliminated ‘silent’ vowels. (Which exist due to language evolution.)

Best regards: dlanor

Works exactly as advertised. Upgraded from 0.6.0 flawlessly.
Many thanks.

Btw. Analogue is The correct spelling in English as spoken by people from England.
Analog is the American spelling as spoken by people from America

:^} that’s my opinion as a Brit living in the U.S !
Two great countries separated by a common language . . . . And a pond!

Made a new “clean” install on my Raspi 1 and Raspi 2 models, and everything works great! Congratulations to this great, new release! Rasplex is getting better and better!
By the way, one question:
Is there a way to start a Plex Mix in Music without using a keyboard (press “C”)?
I’m controlling Rasplex with an Android remote App.

As far as I’m aware you can’t pull up the ‘Context’ menu on either Android or iOS remote apps. If you use your TV remote and CEC you can easily configure a spare remote button to bring up the context menu, search for How to CEC in this forum for examples.
