Getting new management features to show up in Plex iOS app

Greetings!

I just got the management features (program guide and recording schedule) to work in iOS. It took a little bit of a process to get it working so I thought other Plexers might appreciate the information.

Keep in mind that I already setup my antenna, HD Home Run box, and DVR on my server and this thread is not going to assist with that (initially).
This post is to get the iOS app to work with the new features of Live TV and DVR management in the iOS app.

1 )I first had to install Plex Server 1.7.2.X on the computer that I have server set up on.
Note: If you check for updates in server settings it will say it is up to date.

  1. I went to plex.tv/downloads/
    and ran the Windows 7 install. (Make sure that you are signed into your Plex Pass account or the download won’t work.)
    Note: I am running Windows 10, but I didn’t see a Windows 10 server download and the Windows 7 install has been running fine so far. I don’t see that it broke anything.
    Another note: I just ran the install without uninstalling my current server.

  2. I uninstalled the iOS app and re-downloaded it from the app store, signed into it, and viola! new features working like a charm!

I hope this helps some other Plexers out there wanting to check out the new features!
