Iv tried plex a number of times in the past to try and replace my WMC setup, but the Live TV feature has always been a snagging point for me, which was why i was thrilled to get the email about it being added as a feature.
So, iv downloaded the latest plex server software for windows and installed on my windows server, setup the DVR to work with my HD Homerun devices (have two of them, a Dual and Connect). All seemed okay…
But, all i seem to be able to do is go through category style listing on the web interface and tell it to record, if i open the Plex app on my iPad i cant find any sign of live tv or recordings or DVR functionality at all, anyone got any hints at what iv done wrong.
From my understanding, the live tv / DVR functionality is limited atm to iOS and Android TV, so i cant even test this on my windows PC’s… help
no joy im afraid, signed out of the app completely, and signed back in using my plex pass details, then verified i was signed in as my admin user.
only things visible in the discovery and Browse sections are the media from my server !
which have been scanned/indexed. I scheduled a recording through the web interface last night, and told it to record to a new library i setup, and that has appeared as a newly added video, which i can play.
But still no sign of the actual program guide or any associated DVR setup, where abouts in the app is it supposed to show up ?
Click on ‘Browse’ at the bottom of the ipad, you should have a ‘Program Guide’ section. If you don’t, try deleting and reinstalling the app. Not sure why some folks have to do that.
Please go to Settings/Server on your Plex Server machine and tell us what server version you are running. If it is not 1.7.2 you need to download the current Plex Pass version.
Upgrading to 1.7.2 worked for me, i wasnt a plex pass customer when i downloaded the server and installed it, so i had 1.5.6.3790, and it was saying it was up to date when running a check. went back to plex server download and spotted 1.7.2 was available now i was logged in using my account (which is now plex pass enabled).
Showing up on my iPad and iPhone now, ill do some more testing tomorrow
@EMaldonado27 You think or you know that your server is 1.7.2? Go to Settings/Server to verify. Live TV will not be available on any version prior to 1.7.2. Also what device are you trying to see Live TV? Will only work on iOS or Android TV. It is not currently available in the web interface, Android mobile, Roku, or any other device.
