My epg was not updating so i removed and reconnected my hdhomerun prime and the EPG still is stuck at 1% updating for hours when it normally updates quickly. i noticed the issue when i checked today and i could not see any shows
After another restart its now working, must of been stuck
EPG loading , can not show , run 1% and done ,
Same issue here. I finally took the plunge with Plex DVR and the EPG program guide is hung at 3%. Running on a Linux box. Tried refreshing, stop/starting plex service and rebooting. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
same
ugh
Been seeing this for a while now. all the sudden last night plex blew up. had to rebuild plex from scratch.
There were two issues affecting EPG updates
- Gracenote data issue for users with 300+ channels
- Cloudflare Rate Limiting errors
Both issues can be identified from logs captured after the refresh is instigated and result in JSON Parse Errors logged

The Gracenote EPG update issue has now been resolved by Gracenote.
This now leaves only the CloudFlare issue, which is being worked on.
The changes of the problem arising would be reduced by ensuring DVR Setting Enable more frequent program guide refreshes is unticked
I’ve had the problem twice now. with the prior plex version. I just updated to the most recent version and will see if it continues. Also I have over 500 channels so hopefully that fixed it as well.
I’ve got 7 channels and my guide is not updating.
I had to download plex software manually again and re-install because It was not updating by itself.
I then deleted my DVR and re-initiated it.
Same problem.
When I go to HDhomerun app, i can see the full guide, no problem.
Help!
300 channels, never had the frequent guide update ticked. Guide is not updating… again. This time it’s stuck at 26% and holding there for the last 24 hours. Deleted the guide database files, same result. Guide data goes up to April 1st. So either this is an April Fools Day prank, or the guide parsing bug is still there. And has been for months.

I need server logs covering the time the refresh fails
If it is the JSON Parsing error caused by malformed gracenote data, then I have a development build with extra diagnostics I can make available
So first need to see logs
See my post above your posts
There are more Gracenote issues.

@sa2000 just sent you some logs.

The EPG refresh at 11:51 hung at 4% at 11:59
Earlier on at 07:18 a refresh which reached 93% got an error from CloudFlare - rate limiting error. This blocked the server IP.
I suspect that the later hangs were probably related to this
There is work going on to change how the refresh is done to avoid this CloudFlare issue

Is there anything we can do while we wait for this to get fixed?

you may have told me already - but do you have the setting enabled for more frequent EPG refresh?

I do not and a reboot of the server hasn’t resolved the problem ![]()
I have just fixed this on my server by deleting the DVR and then re-adding it.
Hi, here are the logs.
I have Version 1.12.1.4885 and windows 10 Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299
I did a manual EPG update at 7:49pm and it did not reach 1%, just stopped and no error message.
Thanks

Thanks - your issue appears to be the same as the other 8+ users in Ontario, Canada where there are timeouts and connection errors on requests for the EPG through Cloudflare - most are on this forum topic http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/299084/epg-fails-to-update
The matter has been referred to our operations team who will be liaising with Cloudflare support
