Program Guide Issues

Hello All,
Recently, I noticed my Program Guide was empty. So I did the normal routine, and refreshed the guide. Since this moment, the refreshes, never seem to complete, i haven’t seen it go past 40%, and then it just stops. I usually think its finished, and check the Program Guide to see its empty.

Since then, I have removed the DVR from Plex and added it again. I have refreshed the guide multiple times, and once it showed some data, but only appears to be a few days worth. As the scheduled recordings stopped after day 2. And since then, have yet to get the guide back up and working. I have searched for this issue, and it appears some have had similar problems in the past. But nothing as specific as my issue.

Any help would be awesome.

Having this problem now as well. The last time this happened there was a specific channel that was causing the issue. SONLIFE I think - and taking it out fixed the problem. I hit refresh and it never goes past 0%.

DVR dead - help!!!

I’m having the same issue. Have reinstalled the DVR, refreshed the channel lists, and even uninstalled Plex (all files) and reinstalled with no luck getting a refresh past 1%. Frustrated beyond belief…

No one is stating what version of PMS they are using and on what platform.

Posting logs might help too but you all might want to consider falling back to a version of PMS that was known to work well on your hardware.

Same issue here, but I installed a new tuner - SiliconDust HD Homerun Extend. Running Version 1.11.3.4803 on a WD MyCloud PR4100.

What part of the log file is that?

For what its worth, currently I am using PMS 1.11.0.4666 and I don’t have any guide related issues. Or at least I don’t see them yet on my main Synology DS1815+ NAS. I have a test system running XPEnology, currently running PMS 1.11.0.4666 without issue but it was running Version 1.11.3.4803. I uninstalled it because after installation the CPU usage spiked to ~95%.

There are currently a couple of issues affecting the refresh and updates of the guide.
One is a Gracenote issue that appears to affect users with more than 300 channels on the DVR - a fix is being worked on
The other is a cloudflare issue that has just been referred t CloudFlare

Please attach full logs zip to have your issue checked out and to establish if it is one of these two issues

What is the status of this?!?
I am on current version 1.12.1.4885. I updated to this version hoping it would fix the problem.
Started having problems 3/23 with guide when on previous version. Nothing was coming up on Recording Schedule.
Have deleted and recreated DVR.
Have renamed the 3 tv.plex.providers.epg.onconnect-… files and restarted server.
Channels are all scanning in fine. There are 22 channels in OTA from a hauppage quad.
My PMS is running on windows 7.

DVR and Live TV has been nothing but problems since got Plex pass in Semptember.
Thank god I did not cancel my other service.

I am running Version 1.12.1.4885 on Windows 10. EPG hangs. I have seen it get past 11%, but still nothing. I have an HD HomeRun Extend OTA with 25 channels enabled. No guide populating, no recordings. Last program recorded on March 23, but nothing since then. I have restarted the machine several time to no avail. I have also unchecked the detail guide and the frequent refresh.

Same issues here. Running PMS Version 1.12.1.4885 on Windows 10 (also running a Mac server as a back up. Also with no EPG). Had an identical issue about a month or so back. Had no EPG for days then suddenly it came back.

Presently, no EPG since mid Saturday. Refreshing and restarting have not helped. I’m

This consist down time (and a few other issues that have gotten no attention from Plex) with no official explanation is staring to get quite frustrating.

As this version used to work for me… problem appears to be with the guide server end? I’ve attached the server log for this version. Rolled up to 1.12.1.4885 again- still no joy - the update stalls at 3%

Update: My guide populated at some point yesterday and recordings are scheduled again. Same version and no changes made.

Could you let me know how many potential channels you have and send me by private message your setup country / region / zip code for the DVR please

The problem showing in your logs is similar to the one recently fixed by Gracenote.
I will be making a special development build available for you that would capture the gracenote xml that is malformed. I will send you a download link by private message

I have sent you development version 1.12.2.4930-9330e3c4f which will provide additional diagnostics for the JSON error during refresh. Please zip these xxxxxxplex.json temp files and attach with the zipped logs. Any JSON Parsing error will result in the JSON text being saved to a file in the temp directory - with name ending plex.json

I am waiting for the plex.json temp file and logs - there was no attachment in message sent

I don’t mean to hijack this thread, but I feel like I might be in the same boat. My issue is pretty close to to this, but it is that my plex DVR guide will miss (seems like random) episodes (tried both new and reruns) of various shows. Example: Last night, my wife wanted Grey’s Anatomy from ABC to be recorded, but the guide didn’t see that there was an episode running. It shows that there is a new one next week, but there was a new one as well last night. She ended up watching it OTA at the time of the broadcast as she happened to be home, so she validated that this was indeed a new episode. We have had this happen a few times with various shows and I have tried rebuilding the DVR, rescanning, and refreshing the guide but nothing has worked so far.

I did updated to the most recent version, but that did not resolve it either. Should I stay in this thread or create my own thread?
