Community Supported Tuners opens up your Plex account to be able to access a larger variety of DVR tuners, including devices that have not been tested and “whitelisted” by Plex. The community has done a bang up job testing a slew of unsupported tuners, and now this knowledge along with new prompts in Plex Web are available to all Plex Pass subscribers. There’s no application, no questionnaire, and no waiting around to get activated!
Any unsupported tuners your PMS can find will show up in the Plex Web DVR setup with a yellow triangle warning of it’s unsupported status. After selecting the unsupported tuner and hitting continue, you will be prompted to enable the unsupported tuner. Not all of these tuners have been tested by the community.
