Getting Started with Community Supported Tuners (Updated)

Community Supported Tuners opens up your Plex account to be able to access a larger variety of DVR tuners, including devices that have not been tested and “whitelisted” by Plex. The community has done a bang up job testing a slew of unsupported tuners, and now this knowledge along with new prompts in Plex Web are available to all Plex Pass subscribers. There’s no application, no questionnaire, and no waiting around to get activated!

Any unsupported tuners your PMS can find will show up in the Plex Web DVR setup with a yellow triangle warning of it’s unsupported status. After selecting the unsupported tuner and hitting continue, you will be prompted to enable the unsupported tuner. Not all of these tuners have been tested by the community. For a full list of tuners that have been community tested to be working, see our Community Supported DVR Tuners spreadsheet.

To get started, read over our Community Supported Tuners article to learn about how to enable this for Plex DVR and some limitations and compatibility notes. Have fun and let us know in the spreadsheet if you find a new tuner that works well.

@kinoCharlino
Is there any way to add support for even more tuner hardware to the Community Supported Tuners? In my case, the AVM Fritz!Box 6490 Cable is supported, the AVM W-LAN receiver cable is not (and it looks like it is the same interace / firmware / functionality) on these two device types. I wrote a thread about this (I even offered a test device), but I did not get any response.
Can you help with this?

Thank you in advance for taking a minute to respond.
