Community supperted tuners list

Hi guys.

I see this list referenced in multiple places but haven’t been able to find it, where is it?

Hi,

good question - If there is none yet, maybe we should start one here @kinoCharlino ?

Cheers
Alex

I’ll add that it looks like IP>SAT tuners have been added as the MegaSat and Octopus IP>SAT tuners seem to be supported

@“andrewpmoore@gmail.com” may I ask, where the list is? I am not finding it

there isn’t a list, but from reading the posts I knew you had a tuner that worked and so do I. So I’m guessing IP>SAT is added as I’d expect that’s why both work.

Haha. Ok  i thought I really missed the “list” somewhere.

Lets wait what @kinoCharlino answers when he’s awake (seems to be in the US so time difference will kick in here).

If they have not started something, I suggest that we start a list here.

In my case - and I think it’s the same with iPhonedation - i use TVHeadend and tvhproxy to add channels from other tuners to Plex Live TV.

Just for info the wintv hvr 1600 pci card I have works well on win 10. I filled out the form but like others here I don’t see a way to view it even the one I submitted.

I’ve had the Hauppauge WinTV Nova and the Nova TD working along with the Kworld DVB-T 399U on Ubuntu, the Hauppauge ones just worked and the Kworld I had to download a firmware file but then its been working fine.

I can add that enigma2 based boxes (with up to date enigma2 firmware - I’ve only tested with OpenPLI) work nicely if they have this plugin installed: https://github.com/OpenViX/PlexDVRAPI

I’m working with the Telestar Digibit R1 in the UK. It uses SAT>IP and has been cloned into at least three other devices. So far, I’ve managed to create a DVR, set up channels and create a recording schedule. However, PMS (running on FreeBSD) crashes when it tries to create a recording - sometimes. Still trying to get to the bottom of this.,

I’m using a Triax TSS 400 and I find some of the channels have the audio description audio track instead of the normal and I can’t find a way to change it.

I guess it makes sense to list those channels (via the form, if it works for you, or a separate thread). From what I guess, Plex uses their transcoder (=ffmpeg/libav) to probe the SAT>IP transponder with a parameter ?pids=all or ?pids=0.

That will spit out all channels and related pids, some of which are audio, video, teletext/caption, etc… You could check yourself even if for those channels the audio-streams and their pids are described correctly. If yes, then Plex DVR has a “bug”, if no, there is nothing they can do without opening the pid data fields in their channel listing.

See: http://www.satip.info/sites/satip/files/resource/satip_specification_version_1_2_2.pdf

It is very handy to look at the “Plex Tuner Service.log” file while scanning a new SAT>IP server to understand the scanning calls.

Hey guys, the plan is to assemble a list once we have a fair amount of data collected from all of you and will very likely post it in here. We’re working on that. We’re really just at the beginning of this and are planning on eventually opening this up to all Plex Pass subscribers.

I tried to use a Technaxx Mini DVB-T Stick S6. Plex recognized it (as DVB-T TV Stick), but I can’t use it because I have to choose a country for scanning channels and Hungary is not in the list.

I found Hungary in the scanners directory (Resources/Tuner/Shared/scanners/dvbt/transponders/4612.ini), so I think Plex should separate the scanning method. If there would be an option after the country selection like “Get EPG from: Gracenote or XMLTV”, users from unsupported countries could be use this feature still with custom XMLTV file like TVHeadend does.

Until this, I can only use it through tvhProxy with a big question mark: why should I use Plex as a DVR if I have to configure another software which have much more options and features.

I just enabled my Asus P7131H. Unfortunately PMS doesn’t have Greece as a supported country. I choose randomly Germany and it found the local channels. But I can’t use EPG since it’s pre-configured for Germany. Please add my country to the supported list. It’s very weird to see local channels with German EPG.

I also tested on my Galaxy S8+ and goes wonderful. Excellent work.

Thanks for your response. Sadly we don’t have EPG data for Greece yet through our provider, Gracenote. I myself want Greece to be added as most of my family lives there. It possible for you to use XMLTV for now as a workaround, until we get those countries on. Thank you.

FYI, I’ve added a thread to collect info on countries users would like to see EPG data added for.

Behold! A list is born  http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/289368/

You seem to have missed by me off the triax tss400 report. I sent through a couple of reports on my findings.
