Plex Media Server
Desktops & Laptops Plex Media Server runs on a variety of desktop and laptop computer platforms. You can filter the view by tag, like server-windows, server-mac, or server-linux. When creating a new topic, you’ll need to use at least 1 tag, so start with a server tag and then optionally combine it with other tags that describe the player or feature (if relevant to your topic) to increase the visibility of your topic. Plex Pass Betas Plex Pass subscribers have the added benefit of trying out fresh, unfinished, and unreleased beta versions of Plex. This is totally optional, and at your own risk, but it can be a big help in testing our new features and fixes before they go public. If installing and using bleeding-edge releases is not your thing, its ok to stick with the public release and poke your nose around this category for fun. Filter by plex-media-server-beta or plex-media-player-beta to get to the beta that interests you. Make sure to select the appropriate tag when creating a new topic, then pair it up with a player or feature tag, if it’s relevant. NAS & Devices We support a ton of NAS brands and models. Check out the NAS Compatibility List for a complete rundown. In this category, you can filter the view by NAS tag, like server-qnap or server-synology. When creating a topic, in addition to the NAS tag, you can add tags for your player or feature (if relevant to your topic) to increase the context of your topic. Remote Access Consider using this subcategory if your topic is related to enabling your server to be accessed remotely. Metadata & Adding Files Consider using this subcategory for topics about naming, adding, moving files, and the associated matching and metadata for your libraries.
