So throughout the day I often put on 5 to 10 minutes of some show when I have some free time, or I watch some TV in bed, and when I want to stop watching I can’t just click pause and turn off the TV, since when paused the Mediacenter skin shows all the episode descriptions and stuff, and because Plex still has the bug where if there’s a lot of text on screen It’ll start spinning up the fans like whoa. I don’t know how loud the Mini gets but my Macbook gets very loud, It’s distractingly loud even from the other side of the room.
Anyway, right now I’d have to click the menu button on the remote like 6 times to get back to the menu, navigate to ON/OFF, and then click sleep. It’s not a huge hassle but it does get annoying when you have to do it frequently. I was thinking having the option to auto-sleep the machine after it’s been idle for a little while would be nice. Preferably have it be adjustable in the options, from say 1 to 30 minutes. Just make it auto sleep and resume from where it left off.
Anyway, let me know if anyone else thinks this is a good idea, I would love it personally.
Did you check Settings > System? There is a sleep system after _ inactivity option in there
Duh... I spent quite some time in there, I didn't even think to double check, as I didn't think I would've missed it before. I'm sorry
I’m actually glad you asked the question SAL. That’s one of those things I keep forgetting to look up. I see my iMac awake before I am in the morning but, by the time I get home from work I’ve forgotten to ask on the forum if it’s possible to make it go to sleep. Thanks goes to you and Isaac !
There is an “official” (five year-old, poorly outlined) feature request for this. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/48706/wol/p1
