Mac sleep prevented by Plex Media Server

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1488
Player Version#:

Mac Mini 2019 - will not enter sleep automatically. pmset -g shows it’s Plex Media Server that’s preventing sleep. WOL is off, auto scan of library is off, local network discover, remote access - all off. No tasks are scheduled to run more frequently than every 3 days.,

PMS is a server so it is intended to be on all the time.

Plex finally allowed the Mac Mini to sleep last night. Which disabled setting was the solution? I didn’t keep a record of the order in which I disabled them, but basically the list in the original post is it.

What’s so “fine” in it? It’s just called “server”. Essentially it’s home media consolidation center, NOT some hi-end 24/7 datacenter enterprise software.

It really should NOT prevent sleep of the machine it’s running on if there are no active duties for it. Or at least there must be an option for a user to choose should it prevent sleep or not.

Numerous bittorrent clients solved this problem fine. Why PLEX didn’t?

Most likely you closed all the broser tabs that were addressing PMS settings. I just cant believe some are trying to convince mw that it’s normal for home software to prevent sleep.
