EDIT: FULL INTEL AVOTON SUPPORT ADDED WITH PMS 0.9.11.12 (2015.02.17) !
THANKS PLEX TEAM, AND THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED TO THIS REQUEST !
Hi,
Some new high end Synology NAS like the DS415+/DS1815+ feature an intel avoton CPU. Since a while now we have to fiddle with the Plex package to manually edit the INFO file and write "avoton" in the supported CPU list to be able to run the package.
Is it possible to finally officially add the avoton CPU to the package ? I was fine to edit the package myself the first few times but it's getting weird now. Synology shared the necessary ressources a long time ago and i don't get why we still have to do this. I totally understand that new Playstation and Xbox users are more numerous and deserve care, but hey we still exist !
Thanks for reading.

I recently began considering a NAS. I think the Synology DS415+ is the model you'll naturally gravitate towards if you want good transcoding abilities. The Synology series is extremely popular. It seems a given that Plex should support the model.
Agreed. I've moved some of my data (but not my media folders) from a Synology DS1511+ to DS1815+; I'm holding off on the media folders until official Avoton support.
Plexians: Please understand that if you drop Synology support, I'm willing to completely move hardware platforms to continue using PMS on a NAS. That's how loyal I am to this community. However, I really hope it doesn't come to that. :)
