I would like to reccomend my content on my server to friends. Not just videos I have put in my queue.
Also share to facebook or other social networks what I’m watching.
Anyone else want this feature(s)
I can't believe you can't do this already! I don't get how the developers would think we would want to recommend videos in the queue, but wouldn't implement the same feature for those of us sharing our libraries with friends. If I want to recommend a movie or tv show in my library to someone I'm sharing with it should be an option.

+1 Would love this. Currently get around it with Home users as I can log into them and create a recommended playlist for them, but a proper system would be better :)
If you don't mind a bit of manual work you can do something similar using a Library.
So you could create a new Library you share with everyone called "Recommend".
Check out post #48 in the thread listed in my sig.
With that said I would agree with the OP here this should be included but I thought I'd share a hackish work-around.

This is what I do. I maintain a "Featured" section, that I update as needed. Mostly on a once a Week and Monthly basis. I keep all my shows in individual folders, so it's simple to point the Featured section to the content I am featuring at that time. It works great. It's where most of my shared users watch their content from these days.
For the OP, there are ways to do this, if you can install Perl on your PMS machine. plexWatch/Web gives some of the functionality you are asking for, and if you are running Windows you can try PlexNotify You have to know how to edit in a Perl environment for the first, and I was never able to get the second running correctly on my Win7 boxes with PMS on my NAS. (YMMV) User Carlo's method and have that library set up to send to your users on given time frames with either package.
For everyone else, here's some skinny on the Recommended tab... (Link at the bottom.)
The Recommend function is only available for the following menu choices:
- Watch Later
- Recommendations
- Channel content (Thought users weren't supposed to be able to see channels, though??? What's up with that?)
Recommend is available only on the following clients:
- Android
- iOS
- Windows 8
- Windows phone 8
So, can't do this from the Web App, Roku, etc and can't do it with your own media, only those previous media types listed above. Carlo's cludge (can't call it anything else, sorry Carlo...) is the only way to get your own content in some sort of "Featured Movies" for users. (Should be able to do the same thing for TV series, right?)
The Recommended section looks good on paper, but seems to only be half fleshed out ATM. Feature Parity should get more clients on board. Until that happens we are going to have to do these kinds of things to get the functionality across the board.

So the only way to recommend a video is to load it from an external site? That makes no sense. Why wouldn't I just send them the link?
The recommendation feature (as it relates to Plex content) seems like it should obviously mean that I'm recommending my own content to a user who already has access to my server. It seems inane to have a recommendations feature that doesn't let you recommend anything you have.
