How many people would use a Fetch TV app for Plex

What is a ā€˜Fetch TV’ app?

Are you talking about something like Sonarr? Except built into Plex?

If that’s the case, it seems silly for the Plex devs to work on this when there are great solutions already out there. If not, well, I guess you may want to elaborate a bit more.

Fetch TV is a set top box that records live TV, allows access to a limited number of app (3) Like Netflix and Stan… and has some media access functions that in no way compare with Plex. Ive decided to dump the Fetch Box and go back to Roku. Google: Optus Fetch TV

Yes yes yes!

If we’re talking about the possibility of my Fetch TV box being able to play my media from my PMS it’d be awesome. This means I can remove the dedicated PC I use alongside the Fetch TV (currently I use Fetch TV for watching ā€œliveā€ TV, and use Plex Home Theater on the PC to watch media off my server. If the Fetch TV could play my media it’d be great!

Yes please

This would change the world. So its a big yes from me.

Yes - with the mighty and mini now released this would be huge!

Absolutely YES

Fetch TV is really taking off after the release of Fetch TV Mighty, which I purchased to gain SmartTV functions on a non-SmartTV Samsung television (plus recording, 4K Netflix, etc), but like so many others I use Plex to access my stored media. A Fetch TV Plex app would be absolutely sensational.

Definetly Yes. FetchTV currently supports DLNA but it’s a terrible interface. Having a native client (like Netflix, Stan and Presto) would make accessing my media so much more convinient.

Definitely interested. Having everything in one place sounds awesome to me.

Definitely would be a real boon.
I currently have a Dedicated PC that runs the PLEX Client to attach to my Plex Server.
So, Running it direct from Fetch box would be fantastic.

Just saw this on GitHub: github.com/devbobo/FetchTV.bundle
Looks like someone is developing a Plex app for FetchTV.

I am having Plex manage all my media files on the PC across all devices which is awesome however just purchased the Fetch TV Mighty which is the best Free to Air PVR on the market and viewing the recorded content on a PC is not easy so this would be perfect to have Plex support it.

Also with over a million users and a big push with these new models as they are a perfect blend of Free to Air, Catch up, Subscription TV, Pay TV and Digital TV / Movies purchase with a great UI and excellent TV Guide it would be a great opportunity to align with to to get more Plex users. Having been a TIVO person for a long time the entire market of TIVO users are making the switch due to hardware failure and they are choosing the Fetch TV option - I chose it due to ex TIVO user reviews saying how great it was.

In a nutshell it is a no brainer to have support for Fetch TV and it isn’t going any where so well worth the effort.

This would be fantastic. They are claiming that a YouTube app is coming soon to the new Fetch platform powered by HTML5. Sounds like it would be a great platform for Plex. True multiroom support for the Fetch boxes is also coming which will make the platform even more desirable.

Please, please, please! 1 box to rule them all! At the moment I use XBONE for PLEX and live tv but it is not ideal and the fan noise sucks and you cant record live tv on XBONE either.

This will help my parents move from Tivo to Fetch TV.

Yes this would be great…

Great suggestion - strongly supported. There is another thread in Feature Requests also requesting a Fetch TV app… http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/251862/fetch-tv-plex-client
