NBA League pass is the official product of the NBA for the online distribution of online video. It provides both live and on demand viewing of NBA games and events such as the draft and All Star weekend. It is a paid service so would require users to authenticate themselves.
They have apps for Roku, Consoles and a web app. Adding native support for this may even attract new users to plex if advertised.
Are you able to make a plugin so that this can be viewed in Plex? A channel would work but it would be awesome if it could be a section instead. On Deck could then display Live Games and recently added would be recent on demands added.
I believe that for a channel it is totally up to the NBA. For me a channel is the way to go for this and the NBA owns the rights so they would have to create or license to create the channel.
As far a a section that would be a HUGE departure from what Plex has always been. I also think any section that involves payment to a third party would be a huge mistake. Plex REALLY needs to stay out of that kind of model.

Nailed it. The ONLY way I see this being desirable is if it is part of a larger expansion into “Live TV” with a full EPG type section similar to Kodi
Also, there is a similar NFL Channel already, so that’d definitely be the way to go for the time being.
Sorry I did not mean to imply that people would purchase the leaguepass through plex, purely that it requires a login and the channel would need to handle that, which is quite common.
