I’ve seen that you can subscribe to a plex pass for 3.99 a month but I dont really know what it does. What would be the difference if I bought the Plex pass?
Have you looked through this:

Or this:
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200288566-What-is-Plex-Pass-
Or this:

Do you know the new Live TV thing. Will everyone with a plex pass get the same channels. Like will the UK get the same channels as the US
For Live TV & DVR see this link, https://www.plex.tv/features/live-tv-dvr/#
and then click on See Channels in your area
Plex isn’t providing any content with Live TV. It utilizes what you have or can get in the way of OTA signals or possibly your cable TV system.
So theres no way to watch Sports in the Uk using Plex then…Darn
What do you get with a Plex Pass?
Among some other minor things you get access to an additional set of forums where you can be ignored by the best.
In actuality I believe the only good reason to get a Plex Pass is to support Plex.
I disagree with a lot of what Plex does but I also recognize that Plex is, by far, the best media manager and distributor for my media there is and they deserve support.
While there are some good features that are Plex Pass only I make no use of any of them but I still find a Plex Pass a good value.
BTW:
You do NOT get a Plex Pass for more/better support the only additional support is the additional forums and there is not better support there than elsewhere.
You do get access to some “preview” apps and software for which you effectively pay to be a beta tester. It is a unique beta testing model that Plex has come up with and they really push that as a Plex Pass perk. Plex is nothing if not innovative.
What @Elijah_Baley says is exactly correct.
Do not buy Plex Pass for any other reason except to contribute to Plex.
The “Special” features you get are all Beta features and you are required to be a Beta Tester if you utilize them.
You do get advanced releases before the rest of the world. But those releases are also Beta Test releases.
You get the extra, exclusive to Plex Pass, forum threads. In there you do get to be an active Beta Tester as when ever you have an issue, you are required to provide logs, dumps and all the testing result info Plex should have generated during what ever testing they do before a release. (Which usually seem like none)
He is also correct that when Plex works properly it is an amazing platform for delivering your media to just about any platform anywhere in the world you want.
I would not want to give up my Plex server. Just want it to work reliably PLEASE!!!..
