Plex DVR And support for SAT>ip ?

Hello ,
I like plex new features photo tagging ,cloud(i Still didnt recive the invite) and plex DVR,
And i wonder if plex Dev if they have any plan on support sat>ip like tvheadend and dvblink
I think plex Devs made a lot of features that incomplete and they cant keep up with it .
We need to know if they have plan to add support for other device and software to plex DVR?
I would like to see plex the all in one media player
And i would like to thank a very devs that work in plex and make it more beautiful than ever

The devs will never speak of their roadmap. This is long-standing rule at Plex for as much as any of us would love to know more about.

Regarding your invitation to the closed beta, as stated in the press release from Plex HQ, there were delays with Amazon.
It is my assumption those delays weren’t likely to be solved before they could move forward with another step in their plan and they didn’t want to wait.
Others in the forums just got their invitations to actively join the beta. Please do remember, it is a resource-controlled beta. From everything I hear, they want it as perfect as they can get it when it comes out of beta. I conclude this means it’s as good as, if not better, than your very own PMS you currently maintain.

Tvheadend is already a plug-in as is dvblink. You can add a lot to the Plex architecture. Personally, I think that’s the beauty of it. A core foundation to add to and customize to whatever you want.

I didn’t ask for there roadmap i like it to a surprise and i am sure will never tell anyone !

They did add google drive , onedrive and dropbox to plex cloud,And i think they will never count on amazon drive

And about tvheadend channel i did try it but it didn’t work, and it will never be a good as in plex DVR

What my guess that happen with cloud is plex depend on amazon drive and its a problem and here why

Plex when announced plex cloud they just make a lot of people happy and invest a lot of money in amazon drive , they should warn the people to not invest until its ready to go (i didn’t blame plex on people mistake too),
What would like to see from plex when they add feature make it without a big announcements until its ready
They did the right thing when they add support for other cloud

I know that plex have many software to maintain and i can’t thank them enough but they should take it step by step

Lets hope they can fix the issue with amazon drive

Personally ( I speak as Chuck here, not a ninja ),

I do not have hope for Amazon.

I find Amazon great for storing my files in long-term storage as Archive. Uploading to Amazon is painful. There are many rate limit errors (429) when using rclone to send the file. Amazon’s acd_cli is terrible and unusable. Even my Synology NAS has difficulty.

If I were asked to guess what the devs have in mind? I could not begin to guess. There are too many things to consider.

Yes i agree with you
But its the cheapest option to have unlimited storage
And about the upload with amazon drive its a pain !
Its slow even if you try there stupid app it won’t work !! (BTW its the worst option to upload to amazon drive)
I get more fails rate when upload to amazon drive
If it wasn’t cheap i will never use it at all

Perhaps this is why Amazon is cheap? Perhaps they are testing to see if it is a market they wish to be in?
Only Amazon knows what they are thinking… IF they are ‘thinking’ at all! haha

To be in a market that will make you lose a lot of money is crazy (maybe they have a lot of money to burn?
Why no cloud provider offer unlimited storage for 60$ or even 500$ pre year !!
That will never pay there bills
I think they great for photos but not for movies or big files

Every business has their marketing “Loss Leader” tests. It’s where they know they will lose money but the information they gather far outweighs the loss because they control how the metrics are obtained.

It’s very possible they thought ‘unlimited’ == 10-20 gigabytes. I highly doubt they thought it might mean 10-20-30 TB. OOOPS.

I do not think amazon crazy to loose money without profit 8-|
They should think about add fair use policy hahaha
There are people have more than +200TB in amazon drive This is crazy !
