I am at my wits end. I cannot get my server to show up, even though I can use plex. This all happened when I added Orbi network to my existing Netgear AC1900 router/modem. Whenever I try to dig into my Synology, it says there is a DNS conflict… but I don’t know how to solve it! Can someone help me fix this?
Please show me what you’re seeing???
I cannot help without knowing what you know.
how do I “show” you?
I cant download a zip log, cause I cant get to my server (Synology DS2415+).
when I log onto Plex, it says:
The selected server cannot be reached securely. An insecure connection may be possible.
Graeys is unavailable.
Then it keeps looking for the server to no avail…
does that help?
You added something to your router. What did you do?
Can you even access DSM?
I do not understand what a DNS conflict can even be. A DNS server returns the address of the named host, period.
Is your DNS server address incorrectly specified in one of the configurations?
Here is another path to get the log files.
Open filestation, go to the Plex share.
drill down into Library until you see the Logs
directory
Right-click on it and Compress to Logs.zip
Attach that file here. That is the same thing you get when PMS gives you logs
If you connected your NAS to the Orbi maybe you are in a double NAT situation and/or you need to change the NAS IP settings. During initial setup, PC and NAS should be in the same subnet (otherwise you need a tunnel). Also the IP range of the NAS should be a private one (192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x or 172.16.0.0 – 172.31.255.255).
So,
it turns out that it was a simple answer…
I simply clicked on “bridge” with my router/modem and the issue was solved.
I am not sure why that wasn’t in the instructions!
I am really thankful for all the input and help I received with this problem.
You guys are really awesome!
Thank you!

Sean
