Photo Library View does not sort correctly

I have recently added photos to my Plex server and have noticed a number of issues. This is going to be one post of many so I can keep the issues separate (hopefully getting answers to all of them :))

This post is specifically about the default view “Browse by Type” (as opposed to the timeline view). I have 4 sorting options for photos which are:

  • Date Added
  • Date Taken
  • Name
  • Rating
Next to each of these is a small arrow which either points up or down, but regardless of the orientation of the arrow my view always appears to list the my folders of photos in alphabetical order, 0-9 and a-z.

To explain, my photos are stored in subfolders for albums:
/2017-01-05 Album Name/photos.jpeg
/2017-01-15 Album Name/photos.jpeg

I expect when I change the sort order for the albums/folders to be displayed in reverse order as well as any pictures but this does not happen. Is this correct or is there something wrong with my album/server?

I can confirm this behavior.

PMS Version 1.7.2.3878
Plex Web Version 3.9.0
Firefox 52.1.2 (32-bit)
Windows 7 Enterprise SP1

Thanks. I had almost given up hope anyone was reading my posts!

Do you also use the photo tagging features? I have another post about it not working but not yet had a response.

I played with the autotagging when it was introduced, and it’s still turned on, but I don’t pay much attention to it. Too many errors. I have a picture of a waterfall that got autotagged as “broccoli,” “edible fruit,” and “food.”

What problems are you having with it?

EDIT: Oh, I see your other post. Photos I’ve added in the past few days have been autotagged, so I can’t confirm what you are seeing.

Thanks, I appreciate you having a look.
