I have one, and it is awesome. I use it with Windows Media Center, which I am trying to phase out and move to Plex. These are very compariable (or POSSIBLY? better) than Silicon Dust tuners. I had a 2-tuner Silicon Dust, but I never could get the DRM issue with Comcast to work right. So, I moved to Ceton and everything works flawlessly. And, I would stay with WMC but I have to use Windows 7 and it has only one issue when recording content. If shows are back-to-back, WMC chops off a few seconds from the former and later, or it gets it right (sometimes) but one overlaps into the other. Both should overlap to get it all, but it doesn’t switch to another tuner … Come On, WMC should know that 6 tuners exist, yet it treats it like only ONE TUNER exists if shows are right next to each other.
Anyway, that is something Plex could easily fix. Okay, I hope that this is a good Write-Up for a Feature Request (as someone asked me / us – all of us Ceton users) to do.
I tried to go to that location, but I can’t. I don’t have access. I guess it’s because I’m not a Plex Pass member yet? Is that correct – can’t even see that location without a Plex subscription?
I didn’t subscribe yet, because it doesn’t work with my Ceton tuner. If I can’t record and use Plex, then I’ll just stick with WMC and keep Ceton as long as I can – because of my investment in everything already. But, if Plex utilized Ceton, I will be a PlexPass subscriber and drop my old hardware and get into the modern times with Windows 10.
Yes, please support Ceton tuners. I currently use a Ceton 4 tuner card with WMC on Windows 7 and would like to transition entirely to Plex but since it works fine as it is I’m sticking with it.
Yes. Please support the Ceton Ethernet tuner. 6 channels off a single cablecard is a revelation (especially now that Comcast has jacked the monthly fee of cablecards from $2.50 to $11 a month).
I believe that there is a large group of WMC users with ceton tuners. Like myself, I am waiting for the opportunity to jump over to a PLEX only environment and leave WMC behind if PLEX were to support the Ceton tuners. Please consider supporting the ceton tuners. (I’ll be glad to support testing the eth-6)
I’ve been a Ceton/MythTv/Plex/Kodi user for a long while now. I would love the possibility to knock that down to Ceton/Plex and have TV available to smart TVs and other devices which I can not install Kodi.
Another Plex Pass member here requesting Ceton support! It’s the sweet setup we’ve been waiting for!
Has there been any feedback from Plex on this? i.e. We’re looking into it, or It’s on the roadmap for 2018, or there’s a technical challenge that prevents us from supporting…
I want to thank everyone for their agreement that Plex needs to make Ceton devices work with their software. I have both of the Ceton devices below, and I am bummed that Plex does not support these yet. So, I thank everyone above for helping the Developers know that people want to be able to record with Ceton.
