PVR Beta Ceton Compatability

Will Plex be compatible with other TV tuners once out of beta? I have a 6-tuner Ceton InfinitiTV card that works perfectly well and I don’t want to have to buy another one.

What DVR devices are supported?
Plex currently works with the SiliconDust HDHomeRun (HDHR) line of digital tuners. Compatible models are available for use in many areas of the world. We’ll be investigating the possibility of supporting additional devices as we move forward.

Me too. This is all I am waiting on to become a Plex Pass subscriber. Please Ceton InfinitiTV, please Ceton InfinitiTV, please Ceton InfinitiTV!

I agree with all of you above. I have the same unit: Ceton InfinitiTV 6 that records on 6 channels at once. Here is a picture and write-up about it. And, it works perfect … EXCEPT Windows Media Center sucks BIG-TIME, so I just hope that they get drivers and make it available to work with Plex and the DVR capabilities like HDHomeRun is trying to create. Honestly, as all of you probably feel too, we have to move away from Windows Media Center and all of it’s bullshit problems. It’s a full-time job almost (for me) keeping WMC going correctly. Once it going fine, but moving to a new computer … WOW, it’s too much trouble. I leave my current WMC computer alone and it does nothing but WMC. Okay, sorry I babbled too much!!!

I have a PCIe Ceton InfiniTV 6 and would also love to see support for these cards/devices, for not only Windows but Linux as well. It is a great tuner.

Please add support for Ceton InfiniTV 6.

WMC with Ceton InfinitTV 6 works okay, but again, I use it daily and know it so well. I hate how shows (if they are ONE-AFTER-OTHER) will have shows with times like this 1:02:00 (1st one), 59:35:00 (2nd one), 59:26:00 (3rd one), etc.

It cuts off just a little so you miss the ending or the beginning. SINCE IT HAS SIX TUNERS, it should record one show on one tuner like this: 1:05:00 hour on one tuner for 1st show, then 1:05:00 hour on second tuner for 2nd show. Then I still get 2 minutes early and 3 minutes late (ALWAYS) on all my recordings to make sure that I get everything.

But, again, WMC sucks and was a MARKET-DOMINATOR until Microsoft just dropped it cold. Real dumbasses.

I do see Plex taking over, if they get these things figured out.

Another shameless plea for Ceton support! My InfiniTV 6 PCIe with a Plex front end sounds like a perfect-world scenario. Granted that Ceton as a company is no longer relevant, but I would hope that a sizable InfinitTV user base with vested interest in finding upgrade / replacement hardware would justify the R&D expense…

I have Pcie Ceton InfiniTV 6 and I would be nice if Plex DVR supports it.

InfiniTV 4 here and a long time Plex Pass subscriber. Can’t wait for Ceton support so I can throw out my Comcast DVRs.

+1 same here

Please add support for Ceton InfiniTV 6.

I, too, use a Ceton InfiniTV tuner with Windows Media Center and would love to go all Plex if it is supported.

I too would like to see support for the Ceton infnitv eth.

It would be really cool if we got DRM support

This is what I’m waiting for! I ditched my three Ceton 6 tuners (1 - ETH and 2 - PCIe) almost two years ago and bought 5 Prime’s. The best move I ever made! I thought WMC was the problem but it turns out… It was Ceton!

Ceton was full of great ideas and horrible execution! Personally, if I was Plex, I’d stay the hell away from Ceton!

Ceton InfiniTV 4 + WMC here as well. I have had other tuners before and they all had issues. Ceton isn’t perfect, but it comes closest for me. Would love to see support as soon as possible - especially for the DRM’d content.

Thanks!

+1 InfinitiTV Support / Windows

Another user requesting Ceton support. I like having 6 tuners in one card and would be great to use with Plex. Thanks.
