Now that we have collections, it would be quite nice if there was an option to view them as a group directly from the home screen. This exists for Playlists, which are essentially another type of Collection, so why not add it for Collections? If some users don’t like this, maybe it could be optional (as most of the other plex-generated items (e.g. news, playlists, channels, etc.) are and/or should be).
I suppose it’s slightly more complicated as you currently could have the same collections-tag with different posters/descriptions… in different libraries.
I do like the general idea though.
Perhaps a collections page (if it were created) could be sub-divided by library similar to what happens with combined TV/Movie collections. I have a Star Trek collection with SIX different subdivisions: one for each decade a TV show aired (because I separate my shows by decade), plus one for the movies. If there were different collections with the same name in different libraries, I think they may be collected together as one because that is how I got my single Star Trek collection, but if not, the grouping idea stands.

Not 100% what you’re asking for… though with Plex Web 4.56.3 / PMS 1.22.3 you should now be able to pin/publish collections to your home screen
On the collection: ... > Visible on → pick from Library, Home and Shared User's Home (requires PMS 1.22.3).

Well, I upgraded the server to 1.22.3 last night but when I check what version Plex Web is, it’s only showing version 4.54.5.
How do I update that part @tom80H ?
You can use http://app.plex.tv/desktop or the version bundled with Plex for Mac/Windows 1.31.0 (desktop client).
The local version of Plex Web bundled with your server will be updated with a future release of PMS.

Although, I didn’t expect the collection to expand out into a row. I thought we’d be able to put a single row of multiple Collections. Is that possible?
that’s not covered by this recent release/update.
This only makes the collections visible as their own lists on the Home page.
I want a Section named “Collections” just like the Playlists has one.
I’m looking to see a Collection library get created when one creates collections of movies.
Oh, I’ve never really had any interest in playlists, so I was unaware that they cannot span libraries. I had (wrongly, it seems) that I could any anything from any library into a playlist.
However a single library for “meta” collections (i.e. collections with media from multiple libraries) would really be a nice feature. At least, it is a nice dream. 
Playlists != collections
(dumb) Playlists can span libraries, btw.
Smart playlists cannot, as they are actually not playlists but stored library filters.
I’d love to see Collections top link, even if it’s for one Library!

But what I requested was a single entry (hub?) that shows on the main menu (liked pinned libraries, etc.) and contains ALL of my collections, from whatever libraries may contain them.
Of course, like all simple concepts, it is probably difficult to implement due to design decisions that conflict with a simple idea like this.
