I have a very big library of movies. Instead of lumping it all together in folder, I have Plex libraries by genre, action, drama, and so on. For collections, I have Star Wars in Sci Fi library and James Bond in Action library. I’d like to see all my collections on one page instead going to each library. Is there a way I can set it up? I want to see Collections listed on the Plex homepage.
Unfortunately there is no way way to have collections on the home page.
There is a collections view within each library
@JuiceWSA might surely come a long and show you how he manages a ton of collections all within a single movie library (instead of separate libraries).
It’s not the same, but you can have the recently used playlists hub on your home screen, so if you create various playlists similar to your collections, you could quickly access like that.
You could create a Library called “All Films” or a like and set to open as Collections, the only draw backs are if you remove a Title you will have to address 2 libraries. The second issue would be not enabled “use in dashboard” so there are no duplicates.
After thinking about it, once set as Collections to open you could call the Library Collections. So there you have it, all your collections in one place. But not on the home screen.
Plex is designed to work with:
ONE Movie Library
and
ONE TV Show Library
(if you want everything to work)
There are limited options - Collection Abuse is one:
The ‘Movie’ Library IS the library of Collections - so no need to have a library called Collections, or highlight the Collections tab.
Major Collections, Minor Collections, Genre Collections, Decade Collections all under one roof with a few Hubs on the Home screen to cover.
