Please let us edit the tags from the new Auto Tag Feature

I’ve only had a little time to check out the new tagging feature, but so far my experience is the same. I have a photo of a squirrel that was tagged as a fox, an unidentified bird tagged as a heron (definitely not a heron), and a heron tagged as “aquatic bird.”

I photographed a particular flower. I took several images of identical composition, bracketing exposures. Plex labeled one image as “vegetable,” another as “zucchini,” another as both “edible fruit” and “avocado,” and another was not tagged at all. The flower was the blossom of a skunk cabbage.

Here’s one I really like:

When I search for “waterfalls,” the full search page finds 30 waterfalls. If I view any waterfall image, the “Related Photos” list indicates that there are 16 images tagged as “waterfalls.” In reality, there are several hundred waterfall images in my Photo libraries, so neither the “Related Photos” list nor the full Search page are even close to correct.

So far, the photo autotagging feature is even more disappointing than Gracenote’s accuracy in identifying classical music. The fact that I can’t edit the tags assigned to my photos makes this new feature actually worse than useless.
