Hi, I have been using Plex for years but only just added a photo’s library. I have auto tagging turned on which works nicely but I’d also like to tag the photos myself so I can find things more easily and it doesn’t seem like that is possible.
It seems like an obvious feature so I’m not sure if I’m missing something, does anyone know how this can be done?

I was looking for the same thing and just read a post that mentioned manual photo tagging is not available. I really need that to make Photos work they way I want them to. Would be great to be able to manually tag photos from the mobile apps as well.
It can’t currently be done. Plex Pass holders can vote for this existing feature request by clicking ‘Like’ on the first post in that thread.
So, if I understand correctly, we need to pay first in order to vote for a blindingly obvious feature that should really be there already, in order to have that feature that many people would be willing to pay for? :-S Why on Earth would Plex have spent all the effort on a fancy autotag feature that many users aren’t overly enamoured with, BEFORE doing the one thing that most would want? I’m on the verge of considering a lifetime Plex PASS but no way I’m investing that much money BEFORE knowing if this feature is going to be available anytime soon. Guess I’ll just continue to scope the competition and any new kids on the block until I find what I want. 
I’m in the same boat here. Considered to buy a lifetime Plex pass few times during past 5 years, but each and every time there’s something half-assed about a supposedly great new feature, which storing, tagging, organizing and syncing of photos really is.
Also basic Plex features like streaming radio channels keep having odd issues, but I can live with spinning circles. Still there’s much to like about this platform. I’ll probably buy it on offer sometime next year. See how this rolls.
Has any progress been made on this? Is there an ETA on this feature? I don’t understand why Photos aren’t getting any love. This seems like a blaring obvisious feature that is just not there. This is the only feature that keeps me from making Plex my one stop shop for my media needs. I would be a lifetime Plex Pass member if it weren’t for this omission. Please give us something with regard to this feature.
It is the same for me. I haven’t bought lifetime pass mostly because of the lack of this feature. Now I’m looking for alternatives but tbh I can’t find anything that wouldn’t involve a separate solution for photo handling. I don’t believe support for photo tagging will be available in plex any time soon. This has been requested years ago and never got any attention.
