Server Version#: 1.18.2.2041
Player Version#: NA
I recently decided to upgrade from 1.17.0.1841 to 1.18.2.2041
Now the server is cranking at 100% CPU for the last 12 hours and the server is not accessible.
The log is filled with stuff like this
Nov 22, 2019 00:44:11.552 [5744] DEBUG - Request: [192.168.1.14:59588 (Subnet)] GET /media/providers (214 live) GZIP Signed-in Token (tramp78)
Nov 22, 2019 00:44:11.552 [2848] DEBUG - Completed after connection close: [127.0.0.1:58989] 200 GET /media/providers (214 live) TLS GZIP 1537505ms 0 bytes (pipelined: 1)
Nov 22, 2019 00:44:15.761 [9392] DEBUG - Request: [127.0.0.1:59605 (WAN)] GET /media/providers (213 live) TLS GZIP Signed-in Token (tramp78)
Nov 22, 2019 00:44:15.765 [1008] DEBUG - It took 78.125000 ms to retrieve 49 items.
Nov 22, 2019 00:44:15.765 [2848] DEBUG - Completed: [192.168.1.14:59017] 200 GET /media/providers (213 live) GZIP 1521859ms 7112 bytes (pipelined: 1)
This sequence is in there over 700 times. Anyone know what it is doing? Is this a wait it out and it will eventually finish? I have a bucketload of media so is it just going to take a long time?
And for the developers - why can’t the server be accessible while this is going on?
Is there a particular place for the debug logs? The only log I see (in the logs folder) that is updating constantly is Plex Media Server.log
Is that the one you want?
And hey, windows is kind of ok…kind of[Plex Media Server.log|attachment]
Sounds like a great idea except the server is not accessible so I can’t run any of those commands. They aren’t available. I can see the verbose logs so I copied those out.
The deal is I can’t get to the server. It is “unreachable” which means all that cool stuff in settings isn’t there.
All I get is a button that says, “do you want to try to re-connect?”
Hey Chuck, I think I’m going to take your advice and drastically limit the amount of music that PLEX is dealing with. I’m going to revert back to 1.17.whatever and delete the music libraries. Then updrade to the latest and see what happens. If that works, I’ll slowly bring in a subset of the previous music ibrary (that which might actually be played). I can’t helo but think what is shutting it all down is dealing with those music libraries.
And that worked.
Reverted to 1.17.0.1841
Deleted all the music and audio book libraries.
Upgraded to 1.18.2.2058 which took maybe 15 minutes
Slowly rebuilding smaller music libraries is working fine.
