I see where it’s crashing… just as it tries to go for the Nvidia card.
It was discovered today that the new QNAP firmware breaks Nvidia transcoding.
Which version drivers do you have installed?
The transcoder is crashing as it loads the Nvidia drivers

Its not the new qnap firmware 4.5.3.xxxx , I am on hero 4.5.2.1638 which works fine with plex 1.22.3.xxxx
NvKernelDriver 4.5.2.1638, Nvidia GPU Driver 4.0.2
Since we recently received a h1288x in the lab, let me go do some testing and see what’s happening.

We worked it out.
I have the patch file which can be applied to PMS 1.23.0.4459.
This patch file addresses the Nvidia GPU driver issue on QNAP.
I have further changes to make for the packaging to complete this as Engineering formalizes and finalizes their work.
I would appreciate volunteers to confirm my testing here.
it if anyone with X86_64 and Nvidia GPU who has a problem with QNAP PMS crashing the moment you start to transcode a video, and are interested in applying these two patches,

Plex crashing when attempting to transcode HEVC. latest QTS, Latest 5.02 nvidia drivers and running 1.23.0.4459.

Hopefully i can test the patch soon, or it makes it way into a new Plex build! as plex is completely broken for me at the moment!

Fixes:
- Crash engaging HW transcoding
- Ignoring of QTS / Container / Virtualization Station modes
I would very much like feedback ASAP. I would like to include this in 1.23.1 which goes to testing tomorrow
Working with the GPU in QTS Mode… will test it in another mode shortly.
Other modes should confirm that Flags are respected
GPU back into container station mode and PMS is behaving itself.
Issue fixed for me.
If you transcode something with the GPU in QTS mode, Is it good ?
