1.28.2.6106-44a5bbd28 broke HDHomeRun Flex 4k

Upgraded to 1.28.2.6106-44a5bbd28 this afternoon, but it lost my HDHomeRun Flex 4k. It kept the Duo backup unit I have, but the main Flex 4k is no longer being found by Plex. It is working and on the network. I can access it via other apps without any issue, but Plex refuses to find it, not by auto-discovery, not by IP, not by name…nothing.

You sure you don’t have some firewall or VPN running that maybe blocking access to the HD Homerun? Can you see it from an app on another device? something that may have started up after the update coincidentally ?

Yes, all other apps (i.e. the HDHomeRun App, Jellyfin, etc) are working just fine…

The kicker now is that the DUO backup unit is now also not being found by Plex. But, like the Flex is up and working just fine…makes no sense.

One additional note I just thought of, about 3 or 4 days ago the HDHomeRuns were updated to Firmware: 20220822, but all was working without any issues with the previous Plex version. Everything started going south with this new update when it was installed on 8/29.

I think you just got caught in that period last night where the backend services didn’t allow your server to do discovery properly.

Using 1.28.2.6106 and updated HD firmware, I was able to remove and re-add tuners without issue.

Weird…this is all it does, regardless of manually putting in the IP or let it try to find it on its own…

Have you restarted again since last night? There is an initialization routine that was messed up last night and left servers in a bad way.

Yeah, several times.

I see a new PMS update is out this morning, but it had no impact on this issue.

This log entry is interesting, and maybe part of the issue on why it can’t re-add it…or do anything.

[Req#409] DVR:Device: Error refreshing existing device device://tv.plex.grabbers.hdhomerun/2bbce95e, marking as dead.

my HDHR Primes are working just fine running latest version of plex and hdhr firmware. Could remove and re-add just fine.

If you are seeing malformed messages in the log you need to repair the database. Only other thing to try is to delete the DVR, scheduled recordings will remain but it should clear out the tuners.
