Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
I had 2 servers on the above version.
The Ubuntu 20.04.6 machine had no problem updating to 1.41.4.9463 via apt.
My Ubuntu 24.04.2 machine will not update past 1.41.3.9314 via apt, not sure why?

What can you show us ?
Screenshot / text capture of the failed install attempt?
My first thought is the repo is somehow disabled.
It’s not that its failing to install, its not even showing up as an update/upgrade when running apt get update or apt get upgrade, even though that worked to update plex previously.
Is plex server no longer in the normal Ubuntu 24.04 repositories?
I found this support article here for enabling repository updating on Linux:
But this file doesn’t exist on my system. There is a plexmediaserver.list.distUpgrade file in there, but the line is not commented out as the above page mentions:
deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/plex.gpg] https://downloads.plex.tv/repo/deb public main
Still unsure why this was updating previously via apt and now is not.
A ‘DistUpgrade’ usually is the direct result of doing a Dist Upgrade action ![]()
Seems you had it before, along the way did a distribution upgrade in apt, and arrived at this point.
When that happened, it moved your active repos to non-active names so they don’t interfere.
If you rename them to normal , apt update, apt upgrade, you should be back in business
Thank you, that did it, and I learned something too. I’ve normally done full reinstalls in the past as opposed to distro upgrades.
Ubuntu has a sudo do-release-upgrade
It’s considered less destructive than using the ‘distro upgrade’ option.
do-release-upgrade evaluates what you have,
saves important stuff,
then installs the new.
– all live.
– AND INTERACTIVE (it will ask about apt repos)
I’ve used it a few times here.
