So is there a “How to” on setting this up? My search didn’t find anything helpful…
I have my server at home, but when we travel to the UK we’d like access to the home library at my mother in laws house in the UK…and later when we get our beach house rebuilt accessing it there as well. Since the beach house is prone to hurricanes, NOT having a full-blown server with library there is a good thing.
Do I need another NAS running the server software? Or can I just share the library and access it from the client? We head over there next month for her 97th birthday…and would like to have a plan before I go.
Plex does not support syncing of any files from one library to another, but that can be done outside of plex via numerous other syncing software.
More importantly, plex does support syncing watched state, so it doesn’t matter which library you watch, as long as you are logged in to the same account.
TechnoJunky…QNAP has a pretty good app that does the synch. I use it to replicate my library weekly to another QNAP server, then shut it down. I have 3 copies of everything (22.5TB so far)…2 on the NAS’s and another on multiple SSD’s so I don’t have to rip these again.
