2 issues on Xbox One (just started yesterday)

This problem just started for me today. Xbox app version 2.5.2.70, server 1.12.0.4829, and Xbox OS 10.0.17115.1001

It happens whether direct playing/streaming or transcoding and plugstar’s workaround causes the app to crash for me

Yeah, going from the app to the home screen or other app is crashing on returning to Plex…just started recently.

New Workaround

As a workaround to the buffering problem, I’ve been turning on and off external subtitles, been working like a charm.

This has just started happening to me as well. Latest version of both server and plex app. Sometimes the box keeps the media name and other times it says buffering but every time the box will not disappear

Got the same problem as well driving me nuts.

I have the same issue as well.

@“johnrea@gmail.com” Can you tell me the OS version your console is on?

10.0.17105.1000

I removed myself from the xbox one beta and went back to the regular build and now everything works again.

Same issue on Xbox one x. Looks like the overlays are not clearing properly. Menu brings up all stats and if I hit menu button again it only removes bottom two lines. Plex version 2.5.2.70 and windows (from Plex settings) 10.0.17115.1001

Same problem here on insider build. Altering the quality didn’t help, returning to home did until I wanted to enable subtitles. Since then going back into Plex from home crashes the app, even with subtitles disabled again.

Same issue here on insider build. Changing quality and changing back does not resolve the issue.

Here’s my workaround.

  1. Start video
  2. Pause video
  3. Press Xbox Button
  4. Press - (three dashes) button for “system options”
  5. Press A or Enter to “refresh”
  6. Press back button
  7. Play video

Yep, I am experiencing the media name/buffering overlay staying stuck on the screen problem.

There was both a Plex update and an Xbox update today and that seem to have fixed my issues.

Yup. Seems to be resolved finally!

Yup looks like it’s working now.

It looks like much more stable right now.
