Apologies if this is wrong thread, bit of a noob to all this but is it possible to have a 24/7 stream/playlist running of random files from my server so it acts as a 'dedicated' tv channel as such? Ideally after something where with my plex share both myself and my brother in a different location could go onto and we'd be watching simultaneously as such?
Alternatively if not is there some sort of random playlist feature I could use to implement a similar effect? One that I could label as a TV station?
Channels aren't built to access files from your server -- they are for accessing files from elsewhere online. You're probably better to ask this question about the specific client that you're using to access Plex Media Server (they can all react differently).
I think you'll need to set up some video streaming server. It'll make the video stream available on some URL over HTTP. Could be on the same machine as the PMS. Then if you want to access it with Plex, you could write a simple channel to access that URL.
