[3.0.45] App doesn't open

Lumia 950 with production build that’s up to date. App starts, the splash screen comes up and after a while the app crashes back to the start screen. The previous app opens without issues.

Hmm, I was able to install on a Lumia 950 XL fine about an hour ago. If you repro that a couple more times, it should output the logs to the Pictures library.

I just tried starting the app about 10 times but I can’t see any logs in the library unfortunately.
FWIW the app runs without issues on a Lumia 550.

I also installed on a Lumia 630 without issues. I was wondering if the Windows Store might have restored some state from the desktop beta into your phone, and that was making the app misbehave somehow, but that wouldn’t explain why it works on the 550 :-/

I am having the same issue :frowning: 950xl insider fast

Working well on my 950 XL on 10.0.14393.67, I have the user activated and I can choose to log in with any of them and watch my content without problem!

Same issue on my 950 XL on 10.0.14393.67. Tried uninstalling both beta and non beta versions of Plex, restarting phone then installing only beta version but still hangs on splash screen then crashes.

Same issue, config and steps tried as gwhiz25. For now I’ve uninstalled and will keep checking back for either a workaround or new version released to the store.

I had to hard reset my phone as other apps stopped working too, and Plex is now working.

I just installed the newest version .46 and I’m now able to get into the app!

Works fine(ish) on my 950. I occasionally have it sit on a black screen. I find removing my headphones makes it continue to load, then I stick them back in.

Same issue here! I only get the Plex splash screen.

I’m also having this issue with a 950 XL on Fast Ring Preview Build. Unfortunately I can’t find the logs in the Pictures library. Previous version of Plex and other Apps are working as expected.

@didier.danloy: you can try to access the logging endpoint on your phone (enabled automatically if there are several crashes in a row at startup). Enter http://:32467/resources/logs in your browser when connected to the same network as your phone.

@blueJack92 is that happening on 3.0.46?

@WilhelmStroker were you on a fast ring build, or the official 10393 AU build?

In my case i was 10586 with latest rollup for Win 10 mobile. No AU for WM yet…

@pombeirp Thanks. I just enabled Device Portal but unfortunately I got a 403 error when trying to access http://10.10.1.130:32467/resources/logs where 10.10.1.130 is my phone IP address. I tried multiple times when trying to launch Plex but without success. I can successfully access http://10.10.1.130:32467/resources.

On the http://10.10.1.130:32467/resources I only see xml file with MediaContainer. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like me to try.

Thanks,
Didier

@didier.danloy: OK, that confirms that it is not seeing a crash per-se (because the log is also not present in the Pictures folder). Have you tried uninstalling the app and installing it again? Maybe trying at the same time to go to the web app/Settings/Devices and removing the phone from the known devices, so as to force a new sign in?

@pombeirp after removing my phone from Plex Web Server, I just tried to uninstall and re-install the app again but the issue remains. For your information, I also uninstalled the previous version (non UWP).

When checking for my Windows phone again on the Plex WeServer (under devices), I don’t find the Windows Phone I previously deleted.

As an additional test that might help you, I activated Apps Corner and launch Plex from there and it worked! This time I see the device on the Web Server. Unfortunately, it does not work outside of Apps Corner.
