What version of Windows 10 Mobile are you on, @didier.danloy?
@pombeirp Windows 10 Mobile 14393.67. As a side note, I have been able to launch the initial version of the new UWP app once and start a movie without problem but only one time (3.0.45).
@pombeirp: Yes, I have version 3.0.46 installed on my Lumia 950.
@blueJack92 Are you also running a Windows 10 Insider Preview Build? Can you confirm the workaround using Apps Corner works for you too?

or
@blueJack92: try force closing the Plex app by long-clicking on the phone’s back button. I just noticed that there’s a bug when resuming Plex from standby, which causes it to wait indefinitely (will look into that).
Maybe starting the app through Apps Corner ignores the standby state and bypasses the issue?
For the people seeing the app hanging on the splash screen logo: this happens after the OS suspends the app and the app later needs to resume. A 3.0.47 version will be released soon that fixes it.
@pombeirp I just tried with 3.0.47 but the issue remains. Even after uninstall and reinstall or killing it with long press on back button. I’m currently downloading the latest W10 Mobile build 14393.82 and I will keep you updated tomorrow. Thanks again and keep the excellent work on Windows devices. Can’t wait to see the new UWP app on Xbox One.

Same issue here. I already have the 14393.82 W10M build.

I confirm it too
There is a review on the Windows Store which seems to imply that a soft reset fixed it:
Crashing Fixed… Im really enjoying the new layout on WP10. App is fast and flawless so far. Some reported crashing past login screen, which can be fixed by uninstalling old PLEX app and doing a reset of device by holding power and vol down at the same time. It fixed it for me. Dont rate 1 star for things like that. THIS IS BETA. If you trying betas you should know these procedures.
Would be interesting if someone could try the procedure and report back.
I just tried the soft reset but unfortunately the issue remains. The old Plex App is not installed anymore.
Is there anyway to remove the new Plex app and clear all left over from the phone?
What about removing the device from the server so that it prompts you to sign in again?
Same here. I tried a soft reset, uninstalled the old app, reinstalled the new UWP app, deleted the device from the server. Don’t know, what I can do anymore.

Same here. The only working workaround so far is to use the “Apps Corner”
Not sure if it is possible to use the Device Portal to go into the phone and delete the app data.

It isn’t possible ![]()
Not sure if this helps but I finally got in for the first time. Steps I did…
Open plex beta from all apps
Wait until the splash screen (this was as far as I got until now)
Kill the app before it kills itself (hold down back and swipe the app down)
Then attempt open the app again (first two times I did this step I just got a black screen instead of the splash screen which I left until it came back to all apps. Third time I tried it took me to enter the pin and worked)
I tried this, but it does not work for me. I still get the splash screen bug.

I tried this also with 3.0.49 and I got the black screen like you did but unfortunately that didn’t resolve the issue for me.
I tried to launch the app around 30 times and I found one way that seems to always work for me. It’s similar to an issue that Netflix used to have but they have since fixed it.
How to launch it:
Launch the App, wait 8 seconds, press start button to go back to the start screen. Launch the app a second time, wait another 8 seconds, press start menu again and launch the app for the third time. This time it should work.
I collected the logs and the exact time stamp of the repro. Please contact me by PM if you want me to upload them somewhere.
Thanks,
Didier
