[3.0.51 Mobile] Feedback & Small Bugs

Plex 3.0.51 on Desktop brought a big speed boost for me. Plex is now ready after five seconds thats awesome, before it was ~22 sec. Big Thanks for that.
Plex 3.0.51 on Mobile fixes the crashes for me, Plex runs now very stable. A clean start of Plex Mobile now needs ~7 seconds until it’s ready, thats great.
If I reopen the app during music Playback after the song switched in background the app starts in one second to user selection, but after login it needs now ~35 seconds for loading.

Small Bugs:

• On the 5.2 inch display (Lumia 950), the album art is not displayed in the music player and the progressbar jumps to the top of the screen.

• When reopening Plex during musicplayback the Windows music control disappears.

• If the song switches (or you skip it) when Plex isn’t on top the Windows music control buttons “Skip to previous” and “Skip to next” greyed out and don’t work.

• When I press the Artist/Song Title on the Windows music control, Plex opens and shows me the Plex Home screen not the music player.

• Under Status the Sync Page doesn’t looks correctly in portrait view.

• It would be great if the “Now Playing” looks and be positioned like on the Desktop app.

You’re done a really great job, the UWP becomes my favourite Plex app now =D

Yeah I’m loving where these 2 apps are going and judging by some of the comments in other threads people seem to love the UI, which is great to see
I don’t use Plex for music on my phone but just tested your issues:

Thanks for the great feedback, as always. Happy that things improved for you after the latest changes. To be honest, I updated to 3.0.51 on my 950XL and it now always crashes after a long wait in the splash screen. Nothing was in the logs, as if the app hadn’t even executed its code. Tried deleting all app state and it did not help. Reinstalled and same problem. The only way I could make it run was to deploy from my local machine to the phone, bypassing the store. It feels like this could be a Windows Store deployment bug.

do you mean that after you select your account in the account picker, you need to way ~35 seconds to see content on the home page? I did notice the log has again ~15 seconds of silence.

@pombeirp Yes, I select my account and than I see the loading circle rotates for ~35 seconds until the Plex home page appears. But, just as I said, this happens only if I reopen Plex after the song switched during plex was in background.

No, but I have to say I don’t really know how I could reproduce it on desktop. Is minimize the same as the mobile “tabing”?
If I minimize it into taskbar it always come instant back without any loading, during music playback, and if I close plex its closed.

On desktop I guess it depends on the memory pressure on the system, so you’re right, it will be unlikely that you see this on such a system.

@pombeirp I can’t tell you with which of the last versions, but now (3.0.59) the background music player works much better.
The extra long loading screen after a song switched in background is away, thank you.

Do you made some changes that influence the loading after user selection from 3.0.51 to 3.0.59? The app needs with 3.0.59 a little bit more than the double time for loading than with 3.0.51 on Mobile and Desktop. It’s ok but the super fast 3.0.51 was incredible ^^.

Glad to hear music is working better now @Martin.S. @roguecode did a great job going over that area of the app. Regarding the slowdown, and looking at the logs you sent me, I’ll need to try to find where this 15 second silent time in the logs is coming from.
