hi, I have a Lumia 950 without hardware buttons and i can’t see the music player control buttons in the music player if the windows task bar is shown. I have to swipe the windows task bar away to see the music player control buttons. Maybe you could replace the buttons or the app adjust with the task bar?
This was somewhat the same in the older 8.1 WP app. While the “taskbar” didn’t obstruct playback controls it did cover the bottom entry in any context menus.

Can you confirm this is fixed in 3.0.49?

I’ve made some screenshots for you, the control buttons are no longer covered by the taskbar and the playlist works. But the player layout now looks broken.
