30 sec skip button jumps to end or random place

Running the latest version of server, but this has been happening for awhile on previous version of server and player, and seems to be getting worse lately. Happens on both the Windows player (direct on the desktop computer that hosts my server) as well as when using a Fire Stick. While recording something (usually football), I start playing at the beginning after an hour. When I’m skipping the commercials using the 30 second skip button, it will randomly jump you to the end of the recording (which gets you back live). It seems like this has been getting progressively worse in the last last couple of updates. It’s so bad I’m not able to watch a show until the recording is done. It’s now happening on the Fire stick when watching other shows that have already completed their recording.

Direct play so not a transcoding thing (I don’t think). Server is my desktop, Ryzen 7 5700G, 32gb, Radeon RX 6600. cpu / memory / disk / ethernet is all barely moving the needle so nothing overtaxed.

Seems like this is an issue with other players as well from what I can see, but I didn’t find any open topics using the new windows 10 Plex for windows App?

I think you are experiencing a very common problem.

Have a read of the thread (it’s not too long) and chime in over there if you want to add your “vote”

I think the erratic behavior of the skip function you see while watching delayed recordings is one symptom in a whole suite of problems.

I’m having the same issue. Makes it unusable if trying to watch a live show with any sort of pausing, rewind, etc.
