I have an old 32 bit PC in my barn. Anyway, Plexamp won’t install on it and I like to listen to the “genre radio” feature which doesn’t seem to exist on the web client.
So, I was installing gable fans in my barn today… I’m listing to a genre station on Amazon Music… I putter around for an hour or so, get everything prepped and staged… Then climb up on the scaffolding and the music stops. I can see that the amazon music client is asking if I am still listenting… I shout “F YOU AMAZON!”… climb down, fire up the Plex web client and just have it play all music.
Anyhow, I sure wish the cool “radio” stations in Plexamp would come to the plex web client, or that there was a version of plex amp that would install on my old barn PC.
Or buy a cheap Android 10 or 11 prepaid phone
( LG K31 Rebel for example) Don’t use a sim, connect to Wifi and go that way.
I did that for my nightstand player for Audiobooks, works like a charm.
I guess I could reinstall windows… The juice doesn’t seem worth the squeeze though… It’s an antique Dell i3-2100 with 2GB of RAM that started life as a point-of-sale terminal and the corp IT folks who upgraded it to Win10 installed the 32 bit version. Now it sits in a pole barn and is used mainly for displaying maintenance manuals and youtube videos
