Hi, I have 3D content in my library, I understand that Plex supports 3D content, but I didn’t understand what does it mean that it supports 3D, I see no special flag or settings when I’m playing 3D content, maybe I’m not naming the file correctly? I couldn’t find any instructions on how to name 3D content correctly.
I would also like to know if there is an option to play the 3D content as 2D like in KODI?
I put my 3D movies in a separate movie library named 3D. I can then restrict access to those who don’t have a 3D TV.
I am not aware of any way to play 3D in 2D like kodi does… maybe someone else can chime in here though.
Plex supports 3D in that we will pass a 3D video to the TV. We do not do anything special to it like 3D to 2D.

What does it mean “pass a 3D video to the TV”? My TV should detect it is playing 3D content and switch to the 3D mode? because it doesnt…

Some do, some don’t. I know my mother’s TV does. There might be a setting that allow auto-switching. Check your TV manual.
I mean Plex just plays the video. It doesn’t really know/care if it is 3D or not. I don’t know how your TV detects the 3D content, but you may have to manually change the TV to 3D mode. The Plex App does not send any type of signal along with the video to indicate it is 3D.
