4:3 content is not playing correctly on new app

4:3 content from Live TV DVR converted using Handbrake Fast 480p30, deinterlace default, auto crop to remove black bars plays files in 3:4 ratio. Issue does not exist in web interface old APK 10.26.0.2578 or playing the file with VLC

Anamorphic content plays with wrong aspect ratio

Most of my DVD sourced files retained the anamorphic aspect ratio with using DAR for correct playback. That has never been an issue with Plex, but the new experience app plays those files back with the wrong aspect ratio. However it seems it may even apply the DAR, but in the wrong direction (making the picture even more narrow then wider). Screenshots for comparison. I’m not sure if you’ve seen this yet, but it was brought up in another thread, and a fix for this is coming in the next release.

Thanks for the sample, I’ve been able to reproduce the problem and found a solution.
