4k Movies and 1080P buffering on Nas Synology DS218play plus

I got premium Plex just to get the “hardware acc” box so i thought this would help me with all the buffering. my setup is

Samsung TV model: UE65KS7005 with a plex app.
and i have “allow direct play” box checked
and i have “allow direct streaming” box checked

Nas: Synology DS218play+
and i updated to 6GB ram to see if it buffers less, and it do on 1080p movies but still 4k movies it buffers every 5 sec or so. i bought a new router also for 4k streaming

Router: Linksys LLC EA9500
i have open up the port for plex and made unlimited bandwidth on it. Still lag ?

Tried on my PS4 PRO plex and there is more lag on that one then the TV.

My nigh boor got the same NAS and he just plug and play he told me and it works for him.

So friendly community please help a family man ! All point of views are interesting ! Ill try everything you throw at me =)

Have a good day/evening/night

Thank you for your fast respons but when I’m checking my details it says “Intel Celeron J3355 2.5 GHz” don’t know if I was clear enough or I’m just misunderstanding but I have a Ds218play(plus) not the ordinary Ds218play

Some of the 4K movies works good on the “DS Video” app that comes with the Synology but it’s feel more crap then plex so that’s why I want plex to work as good as DS Video :slightly_smiling_face:

U got any more advice mate? I appreciate it!

Oh yeah your right!! So sorry for that! I bought a synology ds218play first and then I went back to store to buy a Ds218+ I thought the “play” was still there on the new device
Sorry for that again.

So first question is do I need to transcode the same movies that works with “DS Video” but don’t work with plex to get them work with plex?

And second question Is it hard to transcode a movie?

Thanks alot mate! U have been very very helpful! I will stop asking stupid questions for now! I’ll try and get my hands on that program!

Have a good day! :grinning:
