OK, I’ve been setting up everything a couple of months now and added few 4K movies to the Plex media server.
But all is not well in the force here.
I can stream the 4K HDR fine, for a while. Then I get all kinds of timeouts and “not strong enough wifi”.
My setup:
windows 10 desktop, (Plex server)
google wifi
Roku Premier+ (Plex player)
I can stream online 4K HDR perfectly from Netflix and Amazon Prime, and VULU/VUDU whatever that other thing is.
I am only getting 12 to 15 minutes, most of the time 3 or 4 minutes of my personal 4K on my Plex server, not 20 feet away.
I’ve tried every “stream” listed from 48mb/s to 8 mb/s. Nothing works.
Is there some setting that I’m completely missing in the Plex server setup?
I had that issue to when I used WiFi. But if my server is hardwired to router and hardwired to my streaming device I don’t have issues watching 4K content. Streaming 4K from Netflix/Hulu is different
I have my library on an external HD, so I’ll just plug it into the computer by the TV and see if that fixes it.
Usually when streaming 4K HDR, the network shows only 13 mb/s. On the plex app, the screen has many options from 44 mb/s to only 8 mb/s. None are happy at 4K.
