4k plays but buffers

Ok. Recently my 4K movies have been playing from my PC to my TV with no problem but I noticed it was buffering today but I noticed also somewhat a friend was also watching a movie from a different location will that slow my 4K movie Down

need Debug logs to see whats happening. recreate & capture just after it buffers the second time. attach the zip it gives you here

Thanks for the logs.

It’s a bit confusing since both “E.T” and “Transformers” are starting at the same time on what appears to be the Samsung (ZID00_X6 ?) and Android ?

The logs also show you don not have Direct Streaming (for audio) enabled
PMS also sees your TV as 1920x1080 (2K) and not HEVC capable and must therefore convert to MPEG2-TS

It looks like you have playback quality limited to 20 Mbps for a video (E.T.) which is of much higher quality (~65 Mbps w/ audio) and forces the HW transcode to reduce to 20 Mbps (per the TV’s playback limitation or the remote upstream limitation.

Hardware-wise , you have more than enough throughput capability with the computer and DirectX-coupled GPU.

This having been said, can you confirm / help determine where the limited settings are coming into play?

  1. Upload set to 20 Mbps?
  2. TV (or both) set to 20 Mbps?
  3. Direct Streaming disabled?
  4. HEVC source video ?
  5. Television(s) / players are not HEVC compatible?

May I see the full XML of those two movies ? (hover over them, expose ellipsis, Get Info, View XML)

Which “Plex” app are you using?

One is from Plex, inc and the other (the original “Plex for Samsung” app… which has the audio recording studio graphic) is also available.

i think i found it…located on samsung app…under audio…DTS [DCA] enabled
was not checked…i checked it…so far no buffering
