Hi forum
I have a few 4k movies, that i find a few problems with. I am experiencing stutter, unless i let the xbox buffer for a while.
So my questions are the following.
Is the Xbox One (NOT One S!) powerful enough to play 4k content?
Do i have to optimize all 4k movies in plex?
Anything else i can check?
I have a stable 100mbps connection wired to my xbox.

The regular Xbox One does not support 4K content. It’s being transcoded by PMS for playback. You need to beef up your PMS computer, as it’s not able to keep up apparently.
Correction, Moussa pointed out to me that the original Xbox one will direct play a 4k video the same as the Xbox one s. The difference is that the regular Xbox one cannot output a 4k video so it will down sample the video to 4k automatically.
The same rules apply the 4k video must be direct playable (HEVC or mpeg4 but not h264) with supported audio
