My computer can play 4k Movies not problem but when I put 4K movies on plex it buffers all the time and it does not matter what server settings I use. Any suggestions on how to fix?.
Are you streaming over WIFI? What is your network setup?
PMS plays through your browser on your (in most cases) on your computer. Limitations of audio/video supported by the browser will determine what Plex does.
Transcoding audio (DTS -> AAC or AC3) is a challenge for some processors when coupled with 4K transport and rendering by the browser.
If you’re attempting to compare using VLC, it is an Apples-Oranges comparison. The playback architectures and engines are entirely different.
