Im looking to upgrade my PMS server for a lot of reasons. Its aging and loud and the mobo has a POS chassis fan controller that I wanna have changed. there are other reasons as well.
Anyways, when browsing for parts and researching hw, I found a thread on this forum where a guy claims his UHD630 manages 6 simultanious 4K transcodes. Is this for real? Can you really expect this kind of performance from a modern intel? Her is the thread: Intel QSV hw-accelerated 4K HEVC Transcode Limit
Will any Intel with that GPU work this well or will, say an i9 perform better than an i5 with the same graphics?
And before anyone chimes in on how HDR tonemapping hasnt been implemented, I am aware. Half my 4K material is SDR anyways, and most of all, Im asking to get an idea of the performance.
