Hello just had a question. I just purchased a 4k UHD TV. A Samsung KS8500. I also have a xbox one s. I was wondering will movies being played through the plex app on the xbox one s upscale or will I get the same picture quality as my hd tv? I know the tv upscales but the xbox one s also has a upscale setting. Thanks
The Xbox One app will not upscale the video. If you play a 1080p that is what the server will send to app and what the app will play. So any upscaling done will be when the Xbox One S outputs the file or the TV upscaling to fit it’s resolution. In either case it will most likely need to be enabled from the options in the Xbox One S or your TV.
